The Goldfield Leisure Centre services the people of the Central Goldfields Shire, which has a population of 13,340 and covers an area of approximately 60 square kilometres.

The people of the Shire are well provided for in many ways with there being 77 sporting organisations, 128 community groups and 25 educational institutions registered in the Shires Community Organisations Directory.

 

Location:

The Goldfields Leisure-Nestle Centre is situated at 40 Gillies Street in the heart of the Victorian Goldfields in the town of Maryborough in central Victoria.

The Nestle Centre is a first class recreation facility
that was opened on the 1st of April 1998 by the
Minister for Sport and Recreation, The Honourable Tom Reynolds and Commonwealth and Olympic Gold medallist, Suzie O’Niell. Based on current attendance the Centre is expected to attract 100,000 visits for the year.
